Quinn Hills is a transgender singer-songwriter living in East Nashville, Tennessee.

Quinn realized she was trans on The Fourth of July, 2021 (hereafter “Quinndependence Day”) and has written a number of songs since then chronicling the painful and joyous ups and downs of being a queer woman in a world that wasn’t designed for her.

Her music bucks genre conventions not unlike many of her influences: Tracy Chapman, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Billy Joel, and Weezer. One day Quinn will be working on an industrial rock song and the next a twangy country tune. But through it all remains a winking sense of humor, a healthy dose of hormone-induced angst, and a DIY punk rock ethos.

Quinn’s self-produced album IGNORE ALL PREVIOUS INSTRUCTIONS arrived on digital platforms and cassette tape on September 13, 2024.

“A wonderfully unique record” — Michael Eades, We Own This Town

“Every trans person knows what death is. It lives in our bones; it feeds our nightmares. But when we’re not thinking about death — as Quinn Hills expertly documents on Ignore All Previous Instructions — we also desperately want to love, and be loved, and to be accepted for who we are, and to mostly be left alone.” — Claire Steele, Nashville Scene
